The President Calls Relatives of Shot National Guard Soldiers to White House

President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Tragic Event

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their honor.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both members of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump informed the press. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Community Support

Community members gathered over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist policing efforts in DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a positive energy that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her former high school, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always willing to assist people.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Measures and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have accused a 29-year-old suspect with one count of murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event led the administration to halt refugee claims and cease issuing visas to possessors of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi told the program that she planned to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a MP with distinction, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had bravery,” the governor informed the audience at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
