The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in the state of California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The renowned game designer passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"This is an unimaginable loss, and we stand with his family and friends, his family, and everyone impacted by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts stated.
