The debutant Tested by Albania’s primary attacker in Hoxha. Played through the middle initially but moved out wide after a teammate entered the fray. 7/10
The defender Pushed forward when in possession, something he's known for before. Sometimes seemed hesitant in possession and the approach abandoned after the break. 6
Dan Burn A nuisance on corners and free-kicks, typically, but may be an alternative to his teammate in the backline instead of alongside him. A loose pass in the second half nearly resulted in the first goal from the visitors. 6
Nico O’Reilly Another composed showing by the youngster after his first cap against Serbia. A teammate was unable to take the opportunity from a gorgeous flick over the opposing backline. His position looks secure already. 7
The newcomer His first start in an England shirt. Somewhat careless on the ball though his dangerous set-pieces caused problems. An effective game manager for the boss to have versus sides that sit back. Shown a yellow for a poorly timed tackle. 6
Declan Rice Deliveries from corners and free-kicks caused problems. Enjoyed room to move on the left yet found himself offside when the ball arrived in front of goal. Given a merited rest around the 60-minute point. 6/10
Jude Bellingham Operated in a forward position on the right and also contributed with dirty work. Demonstrated moments of class and scuffed an attempt over. Replaced late on for a teammate, his competition, after receiving a caution. 7/10
Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity before halftime, his effort smartly stopped by Thomas Strakosha. With a teammate staying deep, he had to offer an outlet on the right but his crosses into the box were inconsistent. Replaced with 15 to go. 6
The captain The match-winner scoring seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth strikes at international level.
