The British heavyweight repeated his much-discussed comments about wanting to “kill” Jake Paul during a press event in Florida on Wednesday.

These statements were initially uttered on Tuesday when the boxer was questioned if he would hold back against Paul, responding that “if I can kill you, I'll kill”.

Saturday's fight against the internet personality turned fighter has drawn concern over safety concerns and the physical disparity between the two athletes.

Fury Calls Joshua a “Classless Loser”

Ex- world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury branded Anthony Joshua a “disgrace” for his extreme language.

But the 36-year-old fighter, defended his stance: “This is what I do, we fight. We have a license that permits extreme violence.

“I understand many people don't understand it but this is what my job is. I just enjoy what I do. Whatever happens, happens - provided that my hand is held high, that's what's crucial, respectfully.”

He added, “That's just the mentality we have to have as warriors. I don't know if other fighters think that way. Maybe they're a bit more reserved. The way my mind works. When you're in the squared circle, it's a dangerous thing. Everything can happen.”

“You pray your adversary leaves the ring in good health, but if they don't, you still have to go to bed aware you just did your job. It was purely professional.”

Jake Paul's Incendiary Retort

Paul, a considerable outsider in the fight as a natural cruiserweight, was no less combative in his response.

“This is a contemporary combat sport,” Paul said. “I'm ready. I want his most powerful punches. I want there to be no excuses when it's all said and done. We should kill each other.”

AJ will face Paul, 28, at Miami's arena in a bout many regard as a significant mismatched contest, with some arguing it should have been approved as an exhibition bout.

The professional contest will be fought over eight 3-minute stanzas using standard 10oz padded gloves, with a stipulated weight limit for Joshua.

Joshua Claims He Was “Called In to Save” Boxing

Despite the extreme terminology used, Joshua said he has been “brought in to rescue” boxing.

“They want me to put an end to the Jake Paul phenomenon and I comprehend it and that's why I have to bear the sport on my back in this fight,” he added.

The news conference also had lighter exchanges, with Joshua smiling as his rival sang a nursery rhyme to him.

The final staredown passed without incident, with the underdog adopting a bizarre posture before Joshua remained calm and playfully grabbed his chain.

Paul & Joshua Deny Pre-Arranged Claims

The unusual nature of this bout has led to rumors about its authenticity, including claims that he may be restricted from scoring a knockout.

“There's nothing in the agreement, AJ can confirm it. We're going to battle,” Jake Paul insisted.

Joshua, sporting a valuable chain, humorously remarked, “The only thing in the contract that got my interest was the payment.”

Paul has claimed on his platforms that the total purse will be exceptionally large.

Jake Paul first gained fame as an online prankster, amassing a huge social media following.

He has never fought anyone of Joshua's skill level but maintained that his opponent would not underestimate him.

“It's a wise move on his part,” Paul commented. “This could possibly be, and will be, the largest loss of his career.”

A victory for Paul would be arguably the most shocking upset in the boxing's annals.

It would certainly leave an indelible mark on Joshua's legacy, but the fighter stated it would not spell the end.

“I would come back again, shake it off,” he said. “I'll be main eventing again in a year or two. That's life. I'm a competitor in the sport.”
