Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a former physician has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.

Details of the Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Investigation

These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

List of Charges

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.

Authorities are urging individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
