Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.

American actor Pat Finn, who was seen in popular television series including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.

Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
